Welcome to Purple Book 2. The goal of Purple Book 1 was to be able to see a “Sound Set” and know the sound immediately. This book takes the “Sound Sets” you have learned and adds them to a new “Sound Set” to make a word. This book starts off a bit slow and then gets faster. Most of the “Sound Sets” in this book are simply a combination of two letter sounds you have learned in the Blue Book that are put together. The “Sound Sets” of “sh”, “ch”, and “th” however, make a completely different sound. You will learn about them later. This first page works with the “ck” “Sound Set” and the “a” letter “sound”. |
